COMMON NAME: Jarrah
Marginata Jarrah is one of the most popular and common species growing in the Southwest of Western Australia. This trees has a linear shaped leaves with a lighter vein on the outer edge, the stalked flower buds appear in clusters, and bloom as a white flowers in spring. The bark of the Jarrah, sheds in fibrous strips. Eucalyptus Marginata has a natural regenerative structure which allows them to regenerate after bush fires. Also an important ecological tree, providing habitat for large number of wild life, especially birds and bees. The timber from Jarrah is used for flooring, panelling, fencing and outdoor furniture. Best to used when it's fresh but once seasoned is very hard wood, a very durable and water resistant timber makes it ideal for any outdoor structural work. Eucalyptus Marginata can grow to approximately 40 metres high by 25 metres wide, with a trunk width to approximately 3 metres.
