DESCRIPTIONS:

The Golden Ball Cactus also known as Echinocactus Grysonii, is a barrel-Shaped Cactus with a distinctive  appearance characterised by its pale green stems,  prominent ribs, and dense covering of bright golden spines; it produces vibrant yellow flowers that bloom at the top plant,  typically growing to a height and width of around 2 feet, making it a popular ornamental plant due to its striking golden spines and drought tolerant nature,.

Late spring and to summer 

Key Features:

*  Shape - Rounded, barrel-like with visible  ribs.

*  Spines  - Densely packed, long, and bright golden in colour. 

*  Flowers  - Large, bright yellow flowers blooming at the top of the plant. 

*  Growth Habit - Slow - growing,  reaching a mature Size of around 2 feet tall and wide.

*  Origin - Native to Mexico

Growing Conditions:

*  Sunlight  -  Prefers full sun  or mostly full sun.

*  Watering  -  Needs minimal watering, especially during winter time when it is dormant. 

*  Soil type  -  Well draining soil. 

How to care:

*  Repotting  -  can be repotted in the spring when new growth appear.

*  Fertilising  -  Can be feed once a month during the summer with a Cactus fertiliser. 

*  Pests - Can be susceptible to mealybugs and aphids, which can be treated with need oil or insecticidal soap.

*  Sunburn -  Can be sunburned if exposed to intense sun for too long,  so provide some shade during the hottest months of the year.

Uses:

*  Can be used as an accent plant in containers, rock gardens,  or arid landscapes.
