DESCRIPTIONS:

The Hoya Bilobata, also known as the Wax Plant  or Porcelain flower.  It is an evergreen perennial plant that is generally found trailing,  but can have a climbing habit that grows up to 24 inches  or longer. Hoya Bilobata can be considered either an epiphytes or a lithophyte. 

Leaves:

small, round, and waxy with a dull olive-green color on top and a lighter green on the bottom.  In bright sunlight, the leaves can turn red.

Flowers:

Tiny red flowers with pink centres and a sweet fragrance.  The flowers are arranged in clusters called umbers, which can contain up to 25 flowers. 

Growth:

Can grow as a trailing plant or climb for up to 24 inches or more.

Origin:

Native to the Philippines 

Sunlight:

Prefers high light, with at least 4 hours of direct sunlight per day.  It can also tolerate bright indirect light  for several hours. 

Watering: 

should be watered when the top 2 inches of soil are dry. Hoya plants are sensitive to overwatering, use a well-draining soil with lots of perlite  or pumice.

How to care your hoya:

Prefer bright,  indirect light, well-draining soil,  and average house humidity.  Water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry and allow the leaves to pucker slightly before watering again.  Fertilise monthly with a fertiliser that includes nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. 

Uses:

Can be used as a hanging plant,  climbers or in a shady garden, courtyard or under trees.
