Aloe aristata - lace aloe - succulent 14cm
Aloe Aristata "lace aloe" is a compact, evergreen succulent known for its rosettes of deep green, triangular leaves with distinctive white spots and a lacy fringe of small, soft white spines along the edges. Native to southern Africa, this hardy, drought tolerant plant forms dense clumps and produces striking coral-orange, bell-shaped flowers on tall stalks in late spring and summer. It's appearance resembling a textured doily and it's low-maintenance needs make it popular for containers, rock gardens and mixed succulent displays.
Foliage: Forms compact, symmetrical rosettes of deep green, triangular leaves.
Leaf Details: Leaves are adorned with mottled white spots and have soft, white teeth along the margins, giving the plant its characteristic 'lacy' or 'bristly ' look.
Flowers: Produces tall, slender stalks with clusters of nectar rich, tubular orange-red flowers in spring and summer.
Growth Habit: A stemless, clumping succulent that readily produces offsets (pups) for easy propagation.
Mature Size: Typically grows to a height and width of 10-20cm.
Lights: Prefers bright, indirect light, but can tolerate some direct sunlight, especially in cooler months.
Soil type: Requiring well-drained soil, such as a succulent or Cactus mixed to prevent root rot.
Watering: Water only when the top soil is dry to touch, this plant is drought tolerant and overwatering is harmful for this aloe.
Hardiness: Can tolerate temperatures down to around -5 degrees, and is often referred to as an hardy or cold hardy aloe.
