DESCRIPTIONS:

Begonia erythrophylla 'Beefsteak', is a popular houseplant known for its striking,  vibrant foliage and unique, Beefsteak-like leaves.  It boasts large, rounded leaves that are dark olive green or bronze with bright green veining, and their undersides are a rich dramatic leaves. 

Foliage:

*  Large, round, glossy leaves with a dark olive green or bronze color on top and a rich red undersides. 

Flowers :

*  While not the primary draw, it produces small,  pinkish flowers on red stems,  especially during late winter and early spring. 

Growth Habit:

*  The plant grows from horizontal Creeping rhizomes and can reach a height of 45-60cm high and a width of 60-90cm wide. 

Light requirements:

*  It can tolerate low light conditions but thrives in bright, indirect light. 

How to care:

*  It prefers moist, well-drained soil and regular watering, but avoid overwatering. 

Toxicity:

*  while visually appealing,  Beefsteak Begonia are toxic to pets.
