COMMON NAME: ILLAWARRA Flame Tree
Brachychiton Acerfolia is a spectacular Australian Native Tree. Deciduous tree that varies in size, depending on the environment. Bright green shiny palmate shaped leaves that are followed by vivid red bell shaped campanunate flowers, After the foliage has shed during October to March. An attractive specimen tree that is perfect feature for large garden and parks. Suitable for coastal conditions, tropical areas and cool climate. While it thrives in full sun, acerifolia is a diverse species, it is adaptable and will tolerate a range of positions, climates and soil types. The growth rate will be rapid when grown in tropical climate. Where as in cool climate it will produce a smaller, slow growing tree. For optimum results, keep the soil moist during growing season and feed regularly using an organic fertiliser. Brachychiton Acerifolia will grow to a height of 10-40m high and a width of 10-15m wide.
