Camellia Early Pearly is a past growing, upright shrub with small dark green foliage and an abundance of large pearly white informal double blooms with an outer petals showing a blush of pink. They are bountiful flowering plants and hardy. Camelia's are ideal for planting as a specimen or using to create a dense screen or in a pot. Perfect for any backyard garden or courtyard and are bird attracting. Sasanqua varieties will tolerate more sun than the shade loving Japonica varieties. Soil types: Well-drained, slightly acidic soil is crucial for healthy Camellia's. Incorporate organic matters like compost or aged manure when planting.
Fertiliser: Apply a Camellia specific fertiliser in spring and again in mid to late Summer.
Pruning: Prune after flowering, typically in late autumn or early winter to maintain shape and remove any dead or crossing branches. Avoid pruning too late in the season, as this can impact the following years of blooms.
Mulching: Apply a layer of organic mulch, such as compost or leaf mold around the base of the plant to help retain moisture, suppress weeds and keep the roots cool. Be careful not to let the mulch covered the trunk.
Pests and Diseases control: Inspect your Camellia regularly for the sign of pests like scale diseases like root rot. Address any issues promptly to prevent them from spreading.
