DESCRIPTIONS:

Eucalyptus Macrandra, also known as Long-flowered Marlock, is a small to medium sized mallee tree native to Western Australia.  It's characterised by its smooth greyish bark,  which sheds during late summer and autumn,  and its long, pendulous clusters of lemon-yellow flowers.  The tree typically grows to a height of 4-10 metres (13-33 feet) and has a spreading, sometimes weeping habit.

Bark:

*  Smooth, greyish bark that sheds in long strips,  aging to grey.

Leaves:

*  Lanceolate, leathery  and bright green. 

Flowers:

*  Lemon yellow with elongated buds, nectar rich attracting birds and insects.

Fruits:

*  Woody, Elongated cup-shaped to bell-shaped capsules. 

Growing Habit:

*  Can grow as a mallee tree (multiple trunks from a lignotuber) or a single stemmed tree.

Height:

*  Typically 4-10 metres high (13-33 feet)

Natural Habitat:

*  Mallee woodland and scrub in sandy soils and granite in Western Australia. 

Plant Uses:

*  Suitable for bonsai, Erosion control and attracting wildlife. 

Tolerances:

*  Drought, poor soil and saline conditions.
