DESCRIPTIONS:

Metrosideros FIJI  is a hardy trunked shrub or small tree that forms glossy dark green foliage, with deep burgundy new growth.   During spring and summer,  Metrosideros Fiji blooms spectacular crimson pincushion flowers that are made up of fluffy stamens.   Metrosideros Fiji is ideal  for hedging or screening plant  as the foliage is incredibly dense.  It will thrive in a sunny position with moist well drained soil.   Once established this variety will tolerate coastal conditions and relatively low maintenance.   After planting,  water well until established throughout hot summer months.  Prune as desired to encourage compact growth.  Protect from frost.   Feed with long term slow release fertiliser in late winter after frost have cleared.   Metrosideros Fiji can grow to a height of 3 metres high and a width of 2 metres wide.
