DESCRIPTIONS:

Philodendron Black Cardinal,  this highly attractive Philodendron is a low growing habit,  clumping variety with a dark green,  almost black leaves and ideal for under - planting in shady sheltered areas. Black Cardinal prefers a moist well drained soil in tropical to sub - tropical situations.   Too much light or too little moisture can cause the foliage to become pale or brown,  although bright, filtered light is ideal. The new leaves emerging are stunning glossy chocolate to bronze  colour and make this plant an impressive ornamental indoor plant able to cope with low light.  Wiping foliage with a damp soft cloth will maintain the glossy appearance and keep the plant healthy and free from dust.  

Ideally suited to a decorative containers in your patio and verandah's entertainment areas and large baskets in shade houses.  Use slow release fertiliser d during spring and summer and half strength of liquid fertiliser every 2 - 4 weeks during the warmer months.  The Sap cause skin irritation.
