DESCRIPTIONS:

Philodendron Prince of Orange  is a tough plant with attractive Orange foliage.  Ideal for indoor use or outdoors under the patios in warm, humid areas.  Prince of Orange is a tropical plant with striking leaves that change colour as the plant matures. 

Appearance:

It is an ornamental plant with big glossy leaves which start off reddish-Orange and gradually mature to bright green.

Position:

Preferred filtered light, and needs a warm frost free position,  avoid direct hot sunlight. 

Soil / Potting mix:

Philodendron Prince of Orange plant prefer well drained,  aerated potting mixes with slightly acidic to neutral pH level:

*  Soil mix :  A soilless mixture of peat moss, perlite, and vermiculite is ideal.  You can also use a commercial aroid Potting mix.

*  pH level:  The ideal pH level  for Philodendron Prince of Orange soil 5.0 - 6.0 .

*  Pot:  Make sure the pot has drainage holes to prevent water from pooling at the bottom. 

Watering:

 Keep soil lightly moist but drier during winter.  Mist the foliage. 

Fertilising:

 A balance,  water-soluble fertiliser diluted to half a strength is good for fertilising a Philodendron Prince of Orange.  You can use it a couple of times a month during the growing season,  which is spring and summer.  You should reduce feeding in the fall and winter because the plant will be dormant and growing more slowly. 

Uses: 

Great for pots for indoor, patio area or plant as a border in tropical style gardens and shaded underplanting. 

Growing tips:   

Keep away from direct sunlight, heating and air-conditioning.
