Senecio String of Pearl Variegated 14cm HB

DESCRIPTIONS:

Senecio String of Pearl  'rowleyanus'  A unique succulent variety displaying trailing stems of round,  pearl-shaped, fleshy foliage and small white flowers during summer. 

Excellent for hanging baskets where the stems can Cascade over the sides.  Plant in a sheltered, warm, well-lit position.   Water only when the soil is dry. String of Pearl Variegated is a low maintenance succulent plant with a unique appearance and captivating colours:

Appearance: This trailing plant has thin stems with small,  round,  bead-like leaves that are green with cream or yellow variegation.  The plant can grow up to 1.8 meters long and is ideal for hanging baskets or growing in pots.

Sunlight:  The variegated string of Pearl prefers bright  indirect sunlight,  shade or early morning sun.  It should be kept out of hot westerly windows or full afternoon sun exposure. 

Watering:  This succulent is sensitive to overwatering and should be watered sparingly,  allowing the top half-inch of soil to dry out between watering.  During winter dormancy,  reduce watering to once a month.

Soil:  Variegated string of Pearl prefers well draining,  fertile soil.

Flowers:  During blooming season, which is from autumn to winter and especially from the month of May to June, the plant produces dainty white flowers that forms tightly compacted puffballs. 

Origin:  The Variegated string of Pearl is native to the drier regions of Africa.  In its native environment, it creeps along the ground growing in the shade of rocks.
