DESCRIPTIONS:
Tulbaghia Violacea Variegata is commonly referred to as Society Garlic and is related to the onion family, producing a strong smell of garlic when leaves are bruised or when flowers are picked. Long, strappy, grey-green and cream variegated leaves form tight clumps, while mauve tubular flowers blooms on tall stalks that stand above the foliage. Flowering for a ling period over summer and autumn. Society Garlic is a popular garden plant used widely by landscapers and is ideal for use as a border plant, in rockeries and mixed gardens. It is fast growing, hardy and requires little maintenance. Society Garlic will tolerate drought but grows best with regular watering. Plant in a semi-shade and full sun position and is suitable for most soil types. Feed annually with a completed fertiliser. Tulbaghia Violacea variegata will grow 30 - 40cm high, clumping to 30cm wide.
